hundreds of bird species can be found, among them the spectacular quetzal,
Guatemalas national bird. Cloud forests, pine forests in the high
mountains and rainforests in the lowlands provide the ideal nesting grounds
for birds of all kinds.
Our
bird watching tours take you on narrow trails through lush vegetation
along small Indian settlements. Depending on the geographical area you
will have a chance to spot Highland Guans, the Mountain Trogon, Pink-headed
Warbler, Blue-throated Green Motmot, Hairy Wood Pecker and many Humming
Birds. In the area around the Caribbean coast and Tikal you will see King
Fishers, Toucans and Macaws.
Take a deep

Admire giant trees in the volcano cloud forest and a huge variety of vegetation.
Hummingbirds, Hairy woodpecker, Pink-headed Warbler, Eastern bluebird
among others an be seen.
Often the absolute highlight on this trip is the colorful quetzal bird
who is very rare seen all over Guatemala.

On our way back we stop for a delicious traditional lunch in a indigenous
villages with some time to visit the artesian market.
